“Lessons I Never Learned at Meadowbrook Academy” is Liz Maccie's first young adult novel, which received the Editor's Choice Award at the 2008 Sand Diego Writers' Conference and is being endorsed by author Stephen Chbosky (“The Perks of Being a Wallflower”). She has additionally worked for many years as a screenwriter. Her past produced films include, "The Thirst," (2006) starring Jeremy Sisto, Adam Baldwin, and Claire Kramer and "Black and Blue," starring award-winning singer/songwriter, Christine Evans. "Black and Blue" is anticipated for a fall 2009 release and recent publicity has deemed the film, "... a gritty coming-of-age story with a strong musical thread guiding its narrative." (newscom.com) Producing alongside Marvin Acuna (“The Great Buck Howard”), Liz recently completed final edit on a coming-of-age documentary about a 43 year old man entitled, "Leaving Vogue Moran." Most recently, Liz assisted writing for a teen talk show pilot entitled, "Danny Dish," starring American Idol's Season 7, Danny Noriega. Passionate about storytelling for young adults, Liz has also freelanced for the past two years in development for The Disney Channel's original movie department and is an active volunteer for The Young Storytellers Foundation. Liz is currently working on her second YA novel entitled, "Scoops."
