Seven

LITERARY CLIENT

Seven a.k.a The Urban Therapist was born the seventh and youngest child to her father, one of the most notorious hustlers in Richmond, Va. While the number 7 represents God's perfect order, this prolific author's life has been far from perfect.

Born and raised in the Whitcomb Court Housing Project in Richmond, VA, Seven's life has not been a fairy tale. At an early age, she and her mother had the misfortune of discovering the badly decomposed body of her father. To add to this author's pain is the fact that over the next several years, death repeatedly continued to show its ugly head, claiming the lives of her younger brother, best friend, nephew, sister and brother in-law, and most recently her mother. Although Seven admits that life without members of her immediate family is tough, the author’s greatest challenge has been visiting her oldest brother, who is her greatest supporter and fan, behind bars for the last 20 years.

A survivor of the streets and of child molestation, the author, poet and activist, openly speaks out against rape, abuse and incest. She works with at-risk women and youth. Her writing is often personal and reflective of her own life experiences. Seven has been coined the urban mercenary by other authors in her field because of her raw, honest, in your face, therapeutic writing style.

She is a graduate of Virginia Union University and is currently working on a Master’s in Public Administration. Her works include Broken Flowers (a poetry/prose compilation) Big Daddy (contributor- Street Chronicles Tales from da Hood) and most recently, Gorilla Black (the debut novel in the Nikki Turner Presents line of hard-hitting street lit)

Seven lives in the Washington, D.C area with her children. She is currently working on her next novel.
